Each day in school, students should be using skills in class that help them in understanding the changing technology environment like social networking and contribution to the development of intellectual texts. In this adapting, changing world, students should be engaged. There should be reality in what we do. Today, using a math app, a student can solve a math problem in 2 seconds. It is even simple to make an essay using Google, and they can text their friends in the next class when you assigned them to do. As educators, we should begin to understand this concept. Solving biggest problems with the use of this knowledge is what we should be concerned about. If you ask a student to present their findings on a real world problem using class oral presentation skills then this cannot be easily found in YouTube. If this will be the basis to assess the student – his analysis of a concept – there are many skills he needs to use to prepare for this presentation. The things he needs to do is to research for relevant information about the problem and determine their credibility. Next is the writing of the script and its editing. Choosing appropriate images is next. Here you implement reading, writing, and research standards, and the last one that is difficult to reach is oral presentation. Refocusing our priorities as educators by teaching our students that which will prepare them for the future is our priority.
